Welcome to Church of the
Rock's Men's Ministry, where men come together to join with each other
in a battle of epic proportions: to help each other grow in Christ so
they can be freed up to find their purpose in Him. "Christ has a plan
for me?" you ask. Absolutely! But that plan can't be initiated unless
you join in fellowship with men who are seeking God with all their
heart. Come, join with us. As you begin to open up and trust other men,
see the difference having a Band of Brothers to rely on can make in

It was an evening low on
nutrition, high on energy and an abundance of strange smelling winds
from regions unknown. The highlights of the evening were two of the
largest slingshots known to man, forbidden food and the smell of
burning rubber as various cars and motor bikes raced. Oh ya....and rows
of old toilets standing out in the parking lot! With about 100 men and
their boys showing up for the event, Roger Beaulieu, current head of
COTR's men's ministry, was pleased with the turn out. “It's an evening
designed to let men cut loose, eat the forbidden food they love, and
have fun in true redneck style”.

Sunday Night Floor Hockey
When Kevin Wilson started
Sunday Night Floor Hockey at Church of the Rock, he had no idea what he
was getting into. Turns out, what he got into is a good thing - no, a
very good thing. "It's really been far
better than I ever could have imagined," says Wilson, one of the
regular netminders. "The turn-outs have steadily been getting better,
as has the hockey. At the start, some guys hadn't played for a while
and needed to get their skills back, while others have simply had to
learn the game. Best of all, everyone has been very enthusiastic."
Maybe a little enthusiastic at times, he adds. "Without question,
playing has involved a learning curve for everyone. Sometimes, things
have gotten a little too competitive, where guys maybe run at each
other and push and shove a bit too much in the corners."

The End of Innocence

As far as anyone could tell,
our 18 year old son, Brandon, active in church and missions,
personified the ideal Christian young man. But Brandon had a secret.
Shortly after beginning his first semester at college, our son
approached us one morning. "I have something I need to confess to you"
he said with a quivering voice.
As we sat waiting for
Brandon to muster the courage to speak, we wondered what he could
possibly tell us was so difficult to say. A flood of pain poured from
our son's heart with one simple sentence. "I`m addicted to pornography"
he admitted.
